I want to go to a store that sells Visa or MC gift cards and get a unique dollar amount on the card as a gift for someone. Where can I do this? Supermarkets, specialty stores???

Here’s a link to visa.com, where you can find the nearest bank that sells the gift cards. From there, you’ll need to call them to see if you can do odd amounts.

-you get an average of about 1000 points per hour for using your computer

I found out that to buy something online with a mastercard giftcard u will need to register ur name and address for the card so that the merchant won’t reject u. My question is that when u register do u have to be 18+ years to do it?

I looked on quite a few MasterCard Gift Card sites, and none of the Terms and Conditions mention an age requirement for registering.
I would go ahead and register the card.

Does anyone know for sure whether or not gift cards from these companies can be used for online purchases like normal cards? Also, would I be able to compound payments from different cards?

For example, I want to buy a watch online for $120 and I have three gift cards totaling $150. Am I able to use one at time until the amount is paid for?

Each site is different and therefore work under different guidelines. In your situation I suggest locating the item you wish to purchase so you have the necessary information handy and calling customer service to assist you. You are more likely able to compound payments with this method as opposed to using the checkout page from the website.

Using Visa or American Express Gift Cards to Shop Online

However, there are additional steps you have to take to prevent your card from being rejected by the merchant. The problem with using Visa (or any other bank issued) gift card online is that there is no verifiable name and address associated with the card. When buying things online, most merchants want your name and billing address to match the name and address you have on file with your card (credit, debit, or bank gift card) issuer.

Therefore, before you use your Visa or other bank issued gift card, call the merchant/financial institution that issued the card or go to their website and add your name and address to the card. This will ensure that when you use the card online, the name and address you provide to the merchant for billing will match the name and address on file for the card. Once you have registered your card, you can use it online just like you would use a regular credit card.

If your information (name and address) has changed since you registered your Visa gift card, call the card issuer or go online and update your information before you use the card online.
