can you use a visa or mastercard GIFT CARD on ebay? like the ones you buy at walmart. ITS NOT A CREDIT CARD! its just one of those that you buy at walmart and you can use at any store like a credit card. my mom wont let me use her credit card online. SO CAN I USE A VISA UNIVERSAL GIFT CARD for ebay auctions?

You should be able to. Choose the PayPal method of payment when you win an auction, and on PayPal menu that comes up (before logging into PayPal), it has a credit card entry area. The Visa gift cards are treated exactly as a credit card.
Alternatively, if you or your mother have a paypal account (and you don’t want to use it to pay), you can generate a one-time use Mastercard number to make a payment and it will expire after being charged whatever amount.

Create a website about something that you know a lot about (recipes, how to fix a car, photography, stamp collecting…). Then you can make money by running some ads on the site.

For my senior exhibition my friend and I are raising money for an orphanage in Nigeria. So far we did a fundraising event at Pat & Oscars. What other restaurants do fundraisers? Any cool fundraising ideas? Are there any stores or restaurants that would donate gift cards for an auction? All ideas will be helpful.

Just go around to all the restaurants in your area and ask them. Schools in our area do school nights at local restaurants on a monthly basis and they’re very willing to help. They usually give 15-25% of proceeds for everyone we send to the restaurant on the particular night.

like do i redeem it or something.i dont want to auction something while not knowing how to use it.i might get in trouble.

You use it when you go to pay for an item you’ve bought or won in an auction.

After the sale/auction is completed, and you go to the webpage where you pay, there’s a spot there where you enter in the codes for any gift cards you have, so that’s where you would use it, as you "check out."

The fundraiser is for an honor society.
We are going to a bar and having like 50/50 raffles, silent auctions, and door prizes.
The only thing i am worried about is not getting enough people.
How can i get the people in the door?
Charging $10 to get in (if tickets in advance)
and $15 at the door.

If you come in we will enter the ticket into a raffle to win a $50 Visa gift card.

Here are some ideas:
1. Local papers will often post fundraising events in a "community events" section for free
2. Call local radio stations to see if they will announce it in their public service announcements
3. Post in Craig’s List "Events" section
4. Post flyers on bulletin boards in grocery stores, laundromats and hand out to other community businesses in the area and ask them if they would be willing to post
5. Have everyone involved in the group send an email to their friends and family and ask them to pass it on
6. Have everyone involved post on their MySpace, Facebook, twitter and other social networking sites
7. Put up wooden signs like real estate agents use for an open house – (maybe you can borrow one) with colorful signs in the area the day of your event maybe with some helium balloons attached to attract attention
8. Ask the bar if you can post some big colorful signs inside and outside on the window where the bar patrons and people passing by can see it for a week or two before your event

Hi. I’m new to ebay, and just signed up for an account. I was wondering if someone could explain how I’d pay for an item that I won in an auction, and what services i need to have? (PS: It’s actually one of those visa gift cards that works as a credit card in case that helps.)

You need to sign up for PayPal account before you can buy from ebay. From PP you can set up bank accounts or credit cards for direct payment to sellers. Takes a couple days for them to confirm your account but once it’s done you can shop to your hearts content.

I will put everything that I receive from maildays after the auction reviews from before into this lot for the youtube buyer that is willing to pay $7500 gift through paypal. Everything will be delivered priority mail with insurance & delivery confirmation. My best offer that i got was $6900 from the last time around. My original assessment was for around $8500, so I’ve lowered my reserve to $7500 + you get all the extras that I’ve gotten from maildays from the past month.

Ive got a little extra cash in pay pal and I thought I had a good idea, Since we buy most everything from walmart I thought I would buy a gift at a good deal. Boy was I wrong.. Ive watched five auctions for walmart gift cards from $200-$250 face value. Oddly every single one of them sold for more then the face value! as little at $5 over and as much as $27. Are people relay just that stupid or am I missing something? Why do people pay more for a gift card then face value on ebay?
Im thinking about going to walmart and buy a whole bunch of gift cards and selling them for $10 more each, Why not? If someone is dumb enough to buy it. lol j/k

What Im wondering is, do people get caught up in the bidding process? Or is it an "I beat you" kind of thing? I never even bid on any so Im not sour about it, Just shocked
I was mainly wondering if it is some kind of scam, Like where they pay too much for the card, and then contact paypal saying someone stole their account, OR saying the card was no good. Or something. Scamers have ways to do everything. But this one just made no sence to me. I had to ask

Normally gift cards sell for less than face value. They may be getting caught up in a bidding frenzy or they may be bidding on a specific gift card that is no longer in production or was a limited edition. There are people that collect gift cards that do not have a balance.
