when i say second baby shower i mean that it’s her second child and thus her second shower.

EVERY baby should be celebrated. People tend to get hung up on the whole "Only one baby shower" thing….because they equate baby showers with GIFT GIVING!! Sure, the mom gets presents….but, more imporatantly, she is showered with LOVE for her new baby and growing family!!

So….I say put as much on there as you can afford.

Better yet….have a diaper cake made customized just to her little baby and place a gift card in with the cake!!! I happen to make customized diaper cakes that match the shower theme or baby’s nursery decor. FIll it with all those neccesities every parent needs…..gas drops, infant tylenol, teething gel, Lullabye CD, pacifiers, Stuffed Animal Topper, receiving blankets. All designed to match that theme you requested!!

Last week I got something in the mail like a little registry guide from target with a coupon that said if i registered there (which i already was anyway lol) and printed out my registry and took it to target i’d get a free $20 gift card. my question is how do you get that coupon??? My mom wanted to do it too (make a different registry and stuff) and just give me the gift card to use for my baby. does anyone know if there was something that you sign up for online, like a free offers thing ( i sign up for lots of them now lol) and thats how i got that or do you get it when you sign up with target.

no you receive a coupon for that that they have to scan when you bring a printout of your registry…sorry if my question seemed unclear…

I took a printout of my registry to the Customer Service desk and that’s where they gave me the gift card.

The Mom- to- be is the sister of a very close friend. I have only met her twice on vacations, we got along very well on the vacations, but other than that, have talked only once on the phone, we live on opposite coasts. I just don’t want to give too much or too little. The grandmother of this baby has been very, very generous to me and I am sure she will see or hear about it.
The Mom-to-be lives in Southern California, I am on the East Coast. I am fortunate enough to be financially stable, but not "wealthy" by any means. I could reasonably afford $75-$100, but don’t know if that is too much.

I would say in the area of $35-$50.00 – no more than $50.00.

The couple is in their 40s and their older kids are mid teenage. So their old-hands at parenting. But I should still get them a gift for the new baby. A gift card seems so cheesy.

I am sure that anything would be appreciated – gift card, maybe a personalized gift for this baby . . . if their other children are in the mid-teens, they might not have a lot of baby stuff left over so just about anything would be appreciated – clothes, diapers, supplies etc . . .

LMAO Ricky Sr.s wife… I will have to spend as much on gas as the card is worth just to get there, lol… I am hoping I can use it online, but knowing my luck….. lol.

My friends are a couple that are expecting in a month . Their probably won’t be an actual baby shower, and that’s more for the female friends anyway. However I did want to get the two of them something they can enjoy together wither before or after the baby arrives. My thought was a gift card to a nice restaurant so they can relax after taking care of the baby so much. Keep in mind I wanted to get them an adult gift and not baby supplies. Any other ideas?

It’s tough to go out to a restaurant with a new baby in the family. It’s going to be a while before they can really use it to it’s full advantage.
A suggestion along the same lines…..you could "cater" dinner for them one night.
Arrange for food, beverages and a DVD and that way they can eat when they are able and can watch the DVD as time permits.
Very nice that you want to think of Mom and Dad during this busy time in their life. (make sure to tuck a little something for baby in whatever you do)
